WHAT DO VOLUNTEERS DO?
As a TEDxChicago volunteer, you’ll help build an community in Chicago around IDEAS WORTH SPREADING. This is done through real time interaction between people, newsletter and social media.
TEDxChicago divide the job between CORE TEAM, TASK TEAM and VOLUNTEERS.
CORE TEAM - Works together setting the direction for the upcoming events and coordinates the task teams.
TASK TEAM - In addition to day-of duties required of all volunteers, such as ushering, registration, and hanging signage, “task team” work will entail participating in one (or more) team(s) working together with a specific task leading up to the event. Each team will be working with a TEAM Co-ordinator as their support and guidance.
VOLUNTEER - The volunteers will work at the events as support to the task teams. All volunteers are expected to attend information sessions ahead of the event. Volunteers are TEDxChicago ambassadors and are expected to be comfortable talking with anyone about the events and pass on information in their communities.
All volunteers must do the following:
Be an ambassador for TEDxChicago, marketing it everywhere!
Follow through on tasks and commitments you sign up for -ask for help if needed
Attend organizational meetings in person or on zoom conference
Attend conference setup and break down
Perform day-of conference duties that you have signed up for
Activities span all areas, from venue design and social outreach to partner management and hospitality. We have openings for any time commitment and interest level. Sign up for our volunteer list to be notified when our next volunteer meeting is and how to get involved.
